What a year and it has just begun!  Our year started with a bang and not a good one.  David had abdominal surgery to remove a failing appendix and some other health issues.  He is on the mend now, but he will need some time to heal before we can beat him up again.  J  Needless to say, we have had to put classes on hold for a few months. Our next class will hopefully be sometime in April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month; and we can’t wait, especially David.  In October of 2011 he successfully completed the “Fight Like a Girl” (FLAG) and “Girls on Guard” (GOG) modules of the Women’s Self Defense Institute’s Women’s Empowerment Series with Mr. Steve Kardian and is now officially a certified instructor, woohoo! 

In addition to our Women’s FLAG and Mother and Daughter classes, this year we will be launching several new programs.   Defending Purity is one of those programs and is perfect for churches and church youth groups.  It has its own Facebook page and addresses the issues of sexual assault and domestic violence from a biblical perspective.  We are also working on developing a program for Girl Scout troops, complete with a patch.  Let us know if you have a specific topic your group or organization wants to talk about and we can tailor our class to address it.  For Example, one business that called us last year was located in a not so great part of town and was concerned about the safety of their female staff members in their parking lot.

Even though David is still healing, we are busy scheduling classes and will post them as soon as we have them confirmed and are confident David is going to be healthy enough to help teach.
